Today we had a visit from Peter and Rob from Ulverstone, who wanted to use the Innovation Circle 3D printer to mock up a prototype for wheel for a Formula One model that has been created as part of the F1 In Schools Challenge.
Our 3D Printer isn't really up to the task of doing a really high performance wheel, however, Peter had a good time checking out the Battery Shed and learning a bit about what we're up to. And he's also got a couple of 3D printed components to help inform further development on his team's car.
If you're interested in the F1 In Schools Challenge, definitely check out their web site. Lots of Tasmanian schools have participated over the past few years, and we've had some seriously good competitors come out of the state, including students who have made it to the international finals.
